Hiking

Approx. 7 minutes' walk from the campsite, 2 swimming pools, children's pool with 38m slide, large sunbathing lawn, free admission with Kärnten Card and for guests of Camping Berggruß.

The perfect way to cool off during the warm summer months is therefore provided!

Gaislochklamm

Approx. 700 metres west of the Ochsenschluchtklamm, you can admire the mighty limestone formations of the Gaislochklamm. Newly built wooden bridges offer a safe hike through this unique natural scenery. The gateway to the Gaislochklamm is a faithfully restored lime kiln.

Golf Club Drautal-Berg

Perfect the tee shot

The 9-hole course of Berg im Drautal is located on a sunny, elevated plateau next to the river Drau. Set in an amazingly beautiful landscape, it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain and river scenery.

Hang gliding

In lofty heights

Berg im Drautal with its Emberger Alm flying area (venue of the 2004 World Championships) is a paradise for aerial sports enthusiasts. The wide alpine meadows above the tree line offer ideal launching possibilities.

Großglockner

The highest mountain in Austria

At 3.798m the Grossglockner is not only the highest mountain in Austria, it also counts among the highest peaks in the Alps. The Großglockner High Alpine Road leads you into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park to an altitude ascent to 2504 m.

Triest

Trip to the Mediterranean

Within 2 hours by car you are in the city of Triest and its Riviera, with its historical atmosphere and architecture reminiscent of Habsburg Vienna. Enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere on the Mediterranean Sea.

The Slovenian border is only a few kilometres away, which is also noticeable in terms of cuisine.

Drau cycle path

Try the idyllic Drau cycling trail, one of the most scenic cycle paths in the Alps.
A special experience is provided by the cycling trails along the river Drau and rivers in the neighbouring valleys, which also make ideal destinations for longer trips with few ascents.

The Drau cycling trail: 75 km running from Lienz in the East Tyrol to Spittal/Drau. Bicycle pass, special tickets for bikers.

Weissensee

At an altitude of 930 m, purest bathing lake of the Alps, reaches a temperature of up to 24 degrees Celsius. Only 17 km far form Camping Berggruß.

Whether biking, swimming, hiking or relaxing, there is something for everyone here.

Climbing Park Greifenburg

An adventure for young and old

In Greifenburg you will find the climbing park and the bathing lake, an adventure paradise for the whole family. After the exciting climbing, where you can break a sweat, jump straight into the bathing lake and cool off. Definitely worth a trip!

Nockberge Biosphere Park

The gentle mountain ranges of the Nockberge Biosphere Park are home to unique flora and fauna. Information boards, educational trails, guided tours and museums invite you to learn and discover. Hiking in the midst of fragrant mountain air becomes a special experience here.

Drau Paddle Trail

Nature enjoyment for young and old! Between Lienz and Lavamünd the Drau paddle trail stretches over 210km. Whether canoeing, kayaking or SUP, there are numerous eventful stages with magnificent views, warm bathing lakes and imposing mountain panoramas.

The Hohe Tauern National Park is characterised by an extraordinary wealth of species. The different altitudes, from the valleys to the three-thousand-metre peaks, provide an incredible space for biodiversity. This high mountain landscape is alive!

Sommeregg Castle

Experience the Middle Ages up close

There is a lot to experience at Sommeregg Castle: Whether eating like in knight times or experiencing history in the torture museum. A special highlight is the annual knights' games, where you can not only browse at the medieval market, but also experience knights and warriors up close!

City of Artists Gmünd

Gmünd is Carinthia's artists' town and offers regional and international artists space for exhibitions. You can also take a look into the studios of local artists and make interesting acquaintances. There is also much to discover on a simple walk through the town.

At the Steinfeld Archery Club, you can not only recharge your batteries, but also leave your everyday life behind. There are suitable offers for both experts and beginners. Training courses, guided tours and rental equipment are just a few of the things on offer.

Lienz

Enjoy a spectacular panorama

With the spectacular Lienz Dolomites, Lienz not only has a breathtaking panorama to offer, but also plenty for mountaineers, hikers, bikers and water sports fans. In winter, too, Zettelsfeld and Hochstein attract numerous skiing fans. 

Raggaschlucht

The Raggaschliucht is a beautiful natural monument that can be experienced by young and old alike, with its 200 metres in altitude and a length of about 800 metres. With good shoes and sure-footedness, the circular trail across the wooden footbridge and the forest can be mastered in about 1.5 hours.
